what do we do?
What started as a mission to design a better practice sword for martial art students evolved into a business specializing in furniture and housewares, as well as practice swords.
Kitchen Wares
Handmade cutting boards are our bread and butter, so to speak. From simple, clean lines to beautiful patterns, we can make something that’s pleasing to even the most discerning eye.
Household furniture
Coffee tables, bookshelves, end tables, and coffee bars are common projects in our shop.
Martial Art Training Tools
Handmade, American hardwood practice swords that are beautiful in form and function.
We work with local, small operation sawyers wherever possible to select the highest quality, most local materials.
We create our own designs for all of our products, so all creations at The Hickory Forge are unique and one of a kind.
The entire creation process, from design to finishing, is done in house. We also partner with Owens Woodworking Crafts for custom carvings and engravings.
