Home About Us |
Many years ago, when people needed a piece of furniture, they went to the local craftsman and described what they wanted. Together they discussed the design, the function, and the cost. Then the craftsman used his skills to create the furniture. That's the kind of personal experience we hope to re-create at Hickory Forge. After working for several years in the furniture industry, we decided that we wanted to take a more individual approach to business. Hickory Forge began when we started designing and creating custom wrought iron furniture for family and friends. Their enthusiastic response convinced us that others would like the opportunity to own unique pieces that they helped design. What makes us special is that every piece we create is custom designed and hand fabricated from start to finish. Our process begins with cutting the iron into pieces. Then the metal is heated and shaped through hand forging. Finally, pieces are welded together. We do not mass produce our furniture, nor do we have a large factory or assembly line construction. We will work with you individually, and together we will come up with a design to fit your unique style. At Hickory Forge we use only the highest quality materials. Our pieces typically are made of solid steel, hot rolled for a traditional wrought iron appearance or cold rolled for a metallic finish. We may use tubing for decorative accents or for smaller pieces. We use the finest quality accessories (knobs, finials, etc.) in your design. Our preferred finish is a clear coat, which gives the piece a natural wrought iron color. Powder coating can provide different textures and colors and is available for an additional charge. We strive for the complete satisfaction of our customers. We deal with our customers honestly and courteously. We deliver products of the highest quality. That's the way we do business. |
